Happy Birthday to Me

Yes!  that's right another year older, not sure if I like the idea of that
but there is not much I can do about it. Plus its a odd number...... 47...... don't like odd numbers!!
 50 is fast approaching.  Yikes!!

Besides all that I will be spending my day with my family, lunch out with my
girls and grandaughter, how nice of them to take the day off on their mums birthday. Then dinner
Saturday night with friends and family. Not sure where I'm going as yet as that is a
secret, hubby likes to keep surprises.

So I'm hoping that lots of cake is coming my way, not worrying about the diet
this weekend as it's only your day once a year...... .right!!

Giveaway.........Lila Tueller

Check out this great giveaway here that Lila Tueller is having, she is giving away one of her gorgeous quilts. Good Luck!!

Stash Builder No.1

Just recently I purchased this fabric on my travels, I couldn't resist its colourful and playful

It did bring back memories of my Kids in Kinder and the excitement of bringing home there
pictures for the fridge. Not quite sure what I'll do with it just yet but it could lend itself to fussy cutting for a
quilt or a good art smock. Which do you think??

Beary Nice

As a lover of Bears, with a healthy collection at that, about 10 years ago
I hand painted these bears in a folkart class and then made it into a quilt. The bears are from a book by Annete Stevenson and some are not.

I love the detail on each bear and this quilt has become a family heirloom as my two daughters fight over whose getting this one.

This one is my favorite, I love her black paton shoes and roses in her hat.

I really enjoyed painting these bears, but it did take about six months to complete
so it was a big project.

Hope you enjoyed my bear quilt!!.

Raspberrry Delicious

I just couldn't resist these fabrics when I saw the colors, I have been looking for raspberry fabrics for a while and this group just coordinated well, so I had to have them.

I did walk away the first time as I thought I have too much on the go, but when I had to go back to the store with my daughter, so she could buy fabric for her quilt. They were calling out my name, so here they are.

What a mess....

I was in and out of my sewing room whilst running back and forward to the computer for instructions on the Kanzashi Flower tutorial, when I stopped looked up and thought
OMG!!! What a mess!!. I looked at the space I was working on and you couldn't see the benchtop for material, magazines, cutting mats etc. I realized then why I was feeling unorganised. So I figured tidy sewing room, tidy mind and then I can refocus on what I am trying to achieve.

As you can see I have been playing with lots of different fabrics

But in the end I did achieve this

Kim from Bitty Bits and pieces posted a tutorial on the Kanzashi Flower which I thought was really pretty so I had to make one, you can see her tutorial here.

I have decided that this year will be the year to finish all my UFO Quilts that have been started, so wish me luck as I know how many I have. Have you got many projects on the go??

Happy Quilting!!
